چکیده
Supersonic Laser Deposition (SLD) is a coating and fabrication process combining cold spray (CS) with laser heating of the deposition zone. increases deformation on impact, improving bonding for given particle velocity, eliminating need to use helium while retaining advantages CS; solid-state deposition, low oxidation high build rate (≤ 10 kg/hr). Although solid lubricants offer over liquid lubrication, remaining effective wide range operating temperatures loads, simplifying sealing, their limited by current application methods. SLD enables metallic coatings which incorporate into coatings, onto substrates. This paper details powders conditions used deposit nickel/graphite using SLD, structure tribological properties produced. Co-efficients friction below 0.14 were demonstrated aluminium

CrN–Ag self-lubricating hard coatings
CrN–Ag composite films, 2.5–4 Am thick, were deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering on Si and stainless steel substrates in a 0.4 Pa pure nitrogen atmosphere at 500 -C. The layer composition was controlled by the relative power to 7.5-cm-diameter Ag and Cr targets to be 0, 3, 12, and 22 at.% Ag. The layers exhibit a dense columnar microstructure where the Ag is homogeneously distributed in ...
متن کاملSelf-lubricating, low-friction, wear-resistant Al-based quasicrystalline coatings
After gas atomization, a quasicrystalline powder based on aluminium was used to prepare a thick coating by high-velocity oxygen-fuel flame torch spraying. This layer was deposited on top of a bond-coat layer on a steel plate. A post-spraying annealing treatment turned the two layers to their stable state, a γ-brass crystal and an icosahedral quasicrystal, respectively. The projection parameters...

متن کاملSolid-State Manufacturing of Tungsten Deposits onto Molybdenum Substrates with Supersonic Laser Deposition
Near fully dense tungsten coatings onto molybdenum substrates have been demonstrated using the Supersonic Laser Deposition (SLD) process. This is a characteristic that is not readily achievable with refractory materials. The tensile strength of the tungsten deposited coatings, 724MPa, is comparable to that of wrought tungsten with no evidence of melting or substrate grain growth. The results ha...
